What not to put in your comic.Part of the problem in adapting Guardians is that the premise was written when I was a kid.  Being a kid, I naturally included things like "power stones" and the like.  My story is so entwined with these elements that when it came to making it into an actual story that doesn't make ears bleed, I couldn't write them out.
So, I'm writing a list of things I wish I hadn't put into my story (because they're exceedingly difficult to pull off in a non-cliche way).  I'm also going to include a few things that actually aren't in my story, but that some people have mistakenly believed I've included.
I'm doing this so maybe you guys don't make the same mistakes as I did.

[FAKEMON] Sugi Style and the Death of Originality(Originally posted in my journal)
Being a fakemon creator or a fakemon fan, you're probably in a number of fakemon groups. Maybe you've entered a few fakemon contests or helped in a few dA based fangames or roleplays that feature fakemon.
Being in these sort of communities, you've probably seen a lot of different styles and media of art - digital, traditional, pixel, realistic, simplistic, surreal... but you've probably also noticed that one style seems to dominate all the contests, projects, and popularity charts.
For the uninitiated, that style is called Sugimori, and it's the "official" style used by Pokemon's own lead artist, Ken Sugimori. In the recent years of the Pokemon fandom, copying Sugimori's style has become increasingly popular. Sugimori style is simple, clean, and looks nice as well as official.
So what's the issue?
Sugistyle (as I'll call it from here on out) has become so popular that good artists using other styles to make their Fakemon in are overlooked or pus

We're back after months. OTL And I've missed this.

You hear about cases in Africa about monkeys and then elephants attacking and destroying towns and killing people.
Meanwhile I heard there's now parts in India where wild elephants attack towns and kill people too. It's a disaster to be attacked by creatures such as elephants that are usually peaceful herbivores. And a sign of nature that we definitely went too far with our greed.
Human population grew up to an insane number. About 6.934.196.000 humans live on this planet now. That's 80.000.000 more humans than only two years ago! The most concerned countries are the poor ones because they make babies either as a sort of old-age insurance... or because the women and girls get pregnant against their will. But the more mouths to feed, the poorer they become, too. And the more desperate the men, the more women get raped.

This is my opinion only and very open to discussion.  What do YOU think?
PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS!  The biggest question you should ask before you start your project is:  Is this something I plan on doing for the sake of publishing, or is it something I am doing solely to grow my artistic skill?
If you're doing it to grow your artistic skill, GREAT.  Don't listen to anything I'm about to say!

[] A big question centers around anatomy. Is it easy for you? Are your skills more 'technical' or 'expressive'? They can be both, but think about which one you are best at. If the one you enjoy most is not the one you are best at, consider doing something solely to grow your skill FIRST.
Expressive is more gesture, cartoon based work. Things that are fluid in motion and have a lot of stylization to them.
Technical involves things that are more anatomically base

Tropes/Archetypes vs ClichesTropes/Archetypes vs Cliches
There were a few debates in my last article about this topic, so I wanted to clear something up.
A trope is a device that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members' minds and expectations.
A cliche is a device that is "sterotyped and trite".
In your writing, you want to use tropes and NOT cliches.  These are some of the ways I've come up with to tell the difference (anything you might want to add is welcome).
1. Subvert.
Why aren't the "chosen one" and prophecy of Harry Potter seen as cliche by most?  Because the author subverted.
She took the average cliche of prophecy resulting in a chosen one, and turned it around (partially).
Voldemort heard the prophecy, and only by believing it was true did he enable Harry to defeat him.  Voldemort could have also chosen Neville, another boy who fit the prophecy, to attack.  If Neville's mother had saved

This shit is not fake. I'm actually really surprised how fast they came out with 6th generation. Or hell, maybe I was properly distracted, but holy shit I am really excited, I almost feel stupid about it.

I DID go a little stupid about it... like, I was in class, meaning to get some work done, and made the humongous mistake of "quickly" (lol) checking tumblr, and then someone I was following (I think it was PK?) posted the three new starters and then I had to check that they weren't fakes, and then I found the trailer, and THEN I was just about done for a few hours.

So awesome. Another thing to look forward to in October.

Doesnt seem that way to me comrade. Unova was different from every region before it in many ways, and quite frankly their are infinite possibilities for new Pokemon which can be explored, look at the thousands of fakemon on the internet
